The Dutch Telecommunication’s authorities OPTA are starting strict checks on the compliance of websites with the latest ‘cookie regulations’.
Cookie regulations require publishers and website owners to ask visitors for authorization to store a cookie in your browser. Cookies are safe for your computer, they cannot carry viruses, and cannot install malware on your computer. Tracking cookies and especially third-party tracking cookies are commonly used as ways to compile long-term records of individuals’ browsing histories.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is usually a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in your web browser while a you are browsing a website. When you in future browse the same website, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify the website of your previous activity. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember the state of the website or activity you had taken in the past. This can include clicking particular buttons, logging in, or a record of which pages were visited by you.
Effective Date
Effective from 26 May 2012 the EU cookie law requires websites to gain permission from users, before planting cookies.

Personal information is information that is associated with your name or personal identity. Xpartakos Bikes uses personal information provided voluntarily via newsletters, mailing lists or online checkout.
